Major Arcana
The Tower
The collapse
Upright meaning
A structure built on a false foundation is coming down. Painful and sudden, but necessary — it was never going to hold.
Reversed meaning
Dodging a collapse that is overdue, or a crisis that grinds on slowly instead of breaking.
What is in the picture
Lightning strikes the top of a tower and knocks the crown clean off. Two figures fall headfirst, with no time to do anything. Twenty-two flames fall through the dark around them. Worth noticing: the tower is built on a bare crag, and the crown was never attached to it. What falls is what was placed on top, not the foundation.
Love
A truth surfaces that changes everything.
Career
Job loss or a project failing. You will rebuild it correctly afterwards.
One thing you can do
Ask: if the thing you fear losing actually goes, what do you still have tomorrow? That list is usually longer than you think, and it is the part that does not fall.
Is The Tower a yes or a no?
Not in its present shape. But this card breaks what is wrong rather than breaking you — what gets rebuilt is usually sounder.
