Major Arcana
The Sun
The clarity
Upright meaning
The best card in the deck. Everything is bright, favourable and worth celebrating. Let yourself enjoy it.
Reversed meaning
Joy delayed, over-optimism, or success that does not feel the way you expected.
What is in the picture
A large sun with a human face shines straight down, and nothing casts a shadow. Four sunflowers lean over a low wall towards the child in front of it. The child rides a white horse bareback, arms wide, holding an enormous red banner. It is naked and entirely unbothered. This is the card of what is obvious enough to need no explanation.
Love
Happy, open, nothing hidden. The best stretch.
Career
Clear success, and it is recognised.
One thing you can do
Tell someone you value them, in a specific sentence rather than a general one. This card rewards directness, and the timing is in your favour.
Is The Sun a yes or a no?
Yes, and it is the clearest yes in the deck. Fewer conditions attached than anywhere else.
Beside another card
A card changes meaning according to what sits next to it. These are the two most common pairings — tap through to read the other card.
