Major Arcana
Justice
The scales
Upright meaning
Everything is weighed exactly as it is. The card of consequence, contracts and decisions that must be even-handed.
Reversed meaning
Unfairness, dodged accountability, or bias in a judgement.
What is in the picture
A figure sits upright between two pillars, a purple veil behind blocking the rest of the view. The right hand holds a sword straight up, sharp on both edges. The left holds the scales. The two are not interchangeable: the scales are for seeing clearly, the sword for cutting cleanly. A square clasp sits at the throat — what is decided does not bend.
Love
Time to speak plainly about what each of you is actually putting in.
Career
Legal matters, contracts, or a fair assessment coming your way.
One thing you can do
Write out the consequences of the choice you are weighing, including for the people not in the room. This card counts them whether you do or not.
Is Justice a yes or a no?
The outcome will match what came before it. If you did your part, yes; if you did not, this card is not on your side.
Beside another card
A card changes meaning according to what sits next to it. These are the two most common pairings — tap through to read the other card.
