Minor Arcana · Wands
Three of Wands
The wait
Upright meaning
You have sown and now you watch the horizon. Expansion is available, possibly somewhere distant.
Reversed meaning
Delay, plans not landing, or a view that is too narrow.
What is in the picture
A man stands on a cliff with three wands planted around him, one hand resting on one of them. He watches ships leaving the harbour below. He is not on any of them — his part is done, and now he waits. Unlike the Two, what he planned has already left the shore and is out of his reach.
Love
Distance in the relationship, or a wait before things are clear.
Career
New markets, partnerships, or an opportunity elsewhere.
About this suit
Wands are about action, drive and work. This is initiating energy — ideas, momentum, and the nerve to begin.
One thing you can do
List what is now running without you. For each, write one line: what my next move is once the result comes in.
Is Three of Wands a yes or a no?
Yes, and usually with some expansion — more people, more places, more scope. It just needs a little patience.
