Ten of Swords

The bottom

endingrock bottombetrayalthe worst is over

Upright meaning

You have hit the bottom — which means the falling has stopped. From here the only direction is up.

Reversed meaning

Getting back up, or refusing to accept that it is over.

What is in the picture

A figure lies face down with ten swords along the back — far more than the job required, to the point of being almost theatrical. The sky above is black. But on the horizon a band of gold is rising, and the water alongside is perfectly still. The worst has happened, which means it cannot get worse from here.

Love

A definite ending. Painful, but done.

Career

Job loss or a project collapse. The worst of it has passed.

About this suit

Swords are about thought, truth and conflict. The suit of speech, decisions and what runs through your head — fear included.

One thing you can do

Write down specifically what has ended. Naming it plainly is the first step, and usually the hardest one.

Is Ten of Swords a yes or a no?

Leans NO

No, and the card is blunt about it. But it is an endpoint rather than a long decline — the dawn is already in the picture.

Beside another card

A card changes meaning according to what sits next to it. These are the two most common pairings — tap through to read the other card.
