Minor Arcana · Pentacles
Six of Pentacles
The scales
Upright meaning
Giving and receiving are in balance. You help someone, or are helped — both are right on time.
Reversed meaning
Giving with strings, obligating debt, or a power imbalance.
What is in the picture
A merchant stands holding scales in one hand and dropping coins into the hands of two kneeling figures with the other. The scales are the detail that matters: he is not giving on impulse, he is measuring. And all three figures could swap places at another point in their lives — who stands and who kneels is only today's arrangement.
Love
One side is giving considerably more. It needs adjusting.
Career
Support, a raise, or a sponsor taking an interest.
About this suit
Pentacles are material: work, money, health and everything countable. Slow, but solid.
One thing you can do
Accept help if you need it, or offer it if you have spare. This card only works when both ends exist.
Is Six of Pentacles a yes or a no?
Yes, often through someone else's help. But the card also asks: is this relationship balanced?
Beside another card
A card changes meaning according to what sits next to it. These are the two most common pairings — tap through to read the other card.
