2028 for Canh Ngọ 1990, men: Tam Tai begins, and earth meets earth

2028 is Mậu Thân, nạp âm Đại Trạch Thổ. A man born in 1990 turns 39, and this opens the Horse's three Tam Tai years.

Hearing Tam Tai, many people think at once of three unlucky years in a row. This looks more closely at it, alongside the two other things landing this year: Kim Lâu Thê, and an unusual element relationship, earth meeting earth.

The first Tam Tai year

The Horse's Tam Tai is reckoned on the whole trine of Tiger, Horse and Dog, so it lands on the same three years, Monkey, Rooster and Dog, for all three signs. In 2028 nearly a quarter of the population enters Tam Tai at once.

The traditional advice is the same for all three years: start nothing large, put your name to nothing, guarantee nothing. A rule covering a quarter of the population at once is hard to call a personal forecast. Its value lies elsewhere: it creates three years in which people are obliged to be careful, which few set for themselves.

Earth meets earth

A man born in 1990 is roadside earth. The nạp âm of 2028 is Đại Trạch Thổ, the earth of a wide plain. Both are Earth, the relationship the five elements call sameness.

Sameness is usually read as easy: like does not attack like. But the image adds something. Roadside earth inside a great plain is solid; nothing washes it away. Nothing moves it anywhere either. A sameness year is one where it is easy to hold on to what you have, and easy to stand still for longer than you meant to.

For a Horse used to running, a year of standing still can be harder than a year of strain. But set beside Tam Tai, standing still is exactly what the rule advises.

Kim Lâu Thê and the star Thủy Diệu

39 divided by 9 leaves 3, which is Kim Lâu Thê, the kind the tradition ties to a man's wife. With Tam Tai as well, 2028 is a year when both rules say no to marrying and building.

The watching star is Thủy Diệu, graded neutral, its reminders leaning towards care around water and around what you say. Like every star table, the almanacs do not all agree on it.

The four areas in 2028

Love. Kim Lâu Thê is the most direct reminder about a partner in the whole stretch. Without the superstition, the usable version is this: in a year spent standing still and keeping things from falling over, the person beside you easily becomes part of what is being kept, instead of someone who needs attention.

Work. This is where Tam Tai is most honest. Do not open a company, sign large long-term contracts, or put your name to someone else's business. Sameness offers something else: a good year to deepen what you already have rather than to expand.

The household. Both Tam Tai and Kim Lâu rule out building. Anything that does not involve raising something new, such as repairs, caring for older relatives, or a child's schooling, is blocked by no rule at all.

Everyone else. The most concrete risk of the year is guaranteeing and co-signing. All of it happens because a relationship is good, not bad, which is exactly why the classical advice aims at it.
