2027 for Canh Ngọ 1990, men: the lightest of the next five years
Published 24/09/2026 · 3 min read
Horse and Goat are a harmonious pair, and 2027 falls foul of neither Kim Lâu nor Tam Tai. This is the window for what 2026 would not allow.

If 2026 is the year people born in 1990 are told everything to avoid, 2027 is the opposite. Of the five years from 2026 to 2030, it is the only one where none of the usual rules objects.
That does not make 2027 automatically lucky. It only means that what had to wait for the calendar can now go ahead.
Horse and Goat, a harmonious pair
2027 is Đinh Mùi, with the same nạp âm as 2026, Thiên Hà Thủy. A man born in 1990 turns 38.
Horse and Goat are one of the six harmonious pairs, sitting side by side on the circle. Tradition puts the Horse on the yang side and the Goat on the yin, and treats the pair as two halves fitting together. The horse runs fast; the goat moves slowly and surely; side by side, each makes up for the other.
For a chart whose greatest weakness is having no brake, that is the most useful kind of year: one with something slower walking alongside.

No Kim Lâu, no Tam Tai
38 divided by 9 leaves 2, so Kim Lâu does not apply. And a Goat year is not among the Horse's three Tam Tai years, which are Monkey, Rooster and Dog.
Set against the others the picture is stark: 2026 falls foul of Kim Lâu Thân, 2028 of both Tam Tai and Kim Lâu Thê, 2029 and 2030 sit inside Tam Tai. If your family checks dates for building or marrying, 2027 is the one year in this stretch with both rules silent. Miss it and the next is 2032, because 2031 is clear of Tam Tai but falls foul of Kim Lâu Tử.
The watching star: Thổ Tú
For men, 38 lands on Thổ Tú, a star graded as neutral. Its classical warnings are about petty people, talk behind your back, and journeys that do not go smoothly.
One thing to say plainly: almanacs do not agree on how good or bad Thổ Tú is. When a system disagrees with itself, the sensible use is as a mild reminder, not a forecast.
The four areas in 2027
Love. A harmonious-pair year is the easiest for a relationship to take its next step, and for anyone who waited out 2026 because of Kim Lâu, this is the year to do it. If there is nobody yet, the pairing is traditionally read as a year of meeting someone suited, and by the logic above, someone suited to a Horse is slower and steadier than he is.
Work. Earth over Water is still there, as in 2026, so this is still a year of getting things done on your own strength. The difference is that nothing pulls back the way his own year did, so the effort is more likely to pay off. If there is something large to start before Tam Tai arrives in 2028, this is the year.
The household. The only building and marrying window in the whole stretch is here. For many families this is the most important line in the series.
Everyone else. Thổ Tú's warning about talk is the only thing worth watching. The defence is simple: say important things directly to the person concerned, and do not let them travel through a third party.
One line for each thing
- The lightest of the next five years: no Kim Lâu, no Tam Tai, and a harmonious pair besides.
- Anything large to start before Tam Tai in 2028: start it now.
- Building or marrying: the only window until 2032.
