2026 for Canh Ngọ 1990, men: his own year, and why it weighs more on a Horse

At the start of 2026 plenty of people born in 1990 got the same warning from a mother or grandmother: it is your year, be careful. The more thorough ones had it looked up and came back saying it also falls foul of Kim Lâu and carries the star La Hầu, “a heavy one”.

All three are true by the almanac's count. But three warnings do not make it three times as heavy, and of the three, the one most worth attention is the one almost nobody mentions: a Horse year meeting a Horse.

Three warnings, two sources

2026 is Bính Ngọ, nạp âm Thiên Hà Thủy. A man born in 1990 turns 37 by the Vietnamese count.

• His own year: the year's branch matches the birth branch. Once every twelve years, for everyone.
• Kim Lâu Thân: 37 divided by 9 leaves 1. Of the four kinds, this is the one tied to the person himself.
• La Hầu: for men, the counting age of 37 lands exactly on it, the star considered heaviest of the nine.

The last two are not independent. Kim Lâu and La Hầu are both counted on the same age, both run on nine-year cycles, and Kim Lâu's remainder of 1 falls exactly where La Hầu falls. So any year you meet Kim Lâu Thân you also meet La Hầu, every nine years, all your life. Three names, two sources.

What nobody mentions: a Horse year for a Horse
